Full disclosure folks: I suck at organizing. As it's name suggests, organizing requires organizational skills, which I don't have. However, I started this meetup because I am passionate about feminism, and about building a feminist community. But I cannot do it alone. So I want to get together and get to know each other so that we can start working together and get this meetup active. This will be a very casual gathering, just to meet and share ideas. Please come if you can.

Come out for the first Detroit Derby Girls bout of the season! An all-female, amateur, flat-track roller derby league in Detroit-- the Detroit Derby Girls are women-owned/run sex-positive sport at its finest!! It's also a great way of socializing with other feminist men and women!

We'll be watching "The Business of Being Born" and discussing the modern birth industry/birth activist movement and how it fits into the greater feminist movement(s). If anybody has another idea for a location, let me know; my apartment should be fine but may be cramped. I'll provide beverages (nonalcoholic, but if you want to bring beer or wine feel free), and people can bring whatever they want for food. People can start showing up at 6 and we'll have dinner/get the movie going by 7.

-Are we interested in discussion groups? Book clubs? Community outreach? Raising public awareness? All of the above?
III. Issues
-What are some issues we'd like to discuss/causes we'd like to contribute to/brilliant ideas for the future?
IV. Leadership and planning
-How are we going to run future meetings? How are we going to divide up the workload. Do we want to elect officers today, save that for a future meeting, or stay away from that entirely?
V. Planning
-Lay groundwork and set calender for future meetings/projects, divide workload however previously determined.
VI. Open forum to discuss whatever, or just socialize
